Update May 29-June 3

Hey y’all hope y’all are well. Here is a little update from the past week. We were blessed to have the church of Garden Valley Texas (TCOGV) here with us this past week. Prior to them coming we were trying to finish a little construction and prepping the campus for their arrival.

They came in on Monday night and hit the ground running as Tuesday we were blessed to go

to Chicazanga and donate 6 water filters to the elementary school while also sharing the love gospel of JESUS. As the team played with kids, played with kids, played with kids some more. There was soccer games going on, bubbles being blown, ballon’s and just a good time had. The teachers who weren’t sure about the gospel coming into their school were thankful and saying we could come back anytime. The team did a couple of dramas as well and we gave out some juice and sandwiches to everybody, the local church we work prepared the food. Big thanks to pastor Elmer and Esperanza for the work they are doing in that town. The team came back in the afternoon and started digging a trench on campus for a runoff pipe, cleaned windows, while a couple others started on a deck.

Wednesday the team was on campus in the morning working on those continued projects. Three of us headed out early to get some

Lumber and get back however it took us about an hour and a half to go 5 miles then we were able to continue down to get the wood but it still took us all morning to go a total of maybe 20 miles. Have you ever had those moments where you are not sure what GOD is doing but you just know HE is allowing something to happen for a bigger thing? That is where faith comes in and believing in our sovereign, all knowing GOD. As Wednesday morning HE was doing just that. As myself and the two guys with me were making the best of our traffic situation, while back on campus GOD was working and moving in the rest of the team. When we finally arrived back they were gathered on the roof top praying and praising GOD as HE was moving and speaking into their lives.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

A man’s heart plans his way,But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9

They finished up ate lunch and took a hike down to casa aleluya. That was an experience in itself, the they played with kids, got a tour and headed back up the mountain. It had gotten dark so when we got to san Bartolome to head up they loaded up Tuc Tucs (3 wheel trikes) in groups of three and the race was on. They had supper then some highlight time before bed.

Thursday we loaded up and headed down the hill, across the creeks, through the woods, past grandmas house ( you were thinking that weren’t you? ) to San Andrés Asuna. Big thanks to brother Lalo and Pastor Andres for lining up some time for us to be able to go to the elementary school

and share the love gospel with the students. The team did puppets, dramas, gave out Candy, presented the love Gospel of CHRIST, and prayed for the students. The director said thank you and that anytime we can talk about the love of GOD with the children we are always welcome, as many of them may never here it at home. We finished there, they ate lunch and we headed back to campus.

Friday some of the team headed out early to go hike the volcano Pacaya, the rest of them went to Antigua and hung out until the rest of the team got to Antigua then we all headed back to campus. The team cleaned, packed, some worked on construction, hung out and headed to the airport at 9:00pm. They had a Saturday red eye flight departing guatemala at 1:30.

We had a blessed time with them here as we know seeds were planted and a harvest will be made soon in the lives of those we came in contact with. Our desire with teams from the states that GOD sends to serve with us is that they don’t only come here to serve but that they retreat and grow in their walk with CHRIST. I believe that happened this week.

All this is for GOD to be glorified and lifted high in our lives and in those of who HE sends us too.

Saturday we were asked a couple weeks again to take a boy home that was ending is time at Casa aleluya he is quite the young man and has decided it was his time to leave. He wants to help his uncle and family in hopes that they may come to know the LORD. Some of them came to get him and we carried them all back home including his little brother who came in as just a baby and left a few years back. That little brother is now 12 and with a little push his older brother in the way home lead him to CHRIST. Glory be to GOD!!! Please pray for them. There is a picture of them to soon be posted.

Y’all be blessed in CHRIST,

The Clemmons-Family Guatemala.
